This online lesson is the first in our series on psychopathology and provides an essential introduction to the topic and the exam skills required.

HOW TO USE THIS LESSON

Follow along in order of the activities shown below. Some are interactive game-based activities, designed to test your understanding. Others are short videos, that include activities for you to think about and try at home.

VIDEO ACTIVITY 1

Let's start with an overview of the psychopathology topic. In this video we take a look at some of the mental health conditions that you will cover during your studies of psychopathology.

VIDEO ACTIVITY 2

In this video and activity, you will explore just some of the ways you can earn marks with your AO3 skills, including using research, higher order critical thinking skills, and making links between psychopathology and the economy.

VIDEO ACTIVITY 3

Next we delve into how to decode exam questions so that you are able to spot when your AO2 skills of application are being assessed in psychopathology.

ADDITIONAL TEACHER GUIDANCE

This online lesson includes:

  • 3 x video-based activities, totalling around 20 minutes of guided video
  • 10-15 minutes (throughout the videos) of "thinking time" and short activities
  • 1 interactive game, reviewing knowledge of psychopathology – this game can be played several times

We would expect students to take around 40-50 minutes to cover all the videos and activities in this online lesson.
